Hi mates,
I turned the key in the ignition today so as to start the bus, and nothing....no reaction...no activity. So i tired again and this time all was fine. I thought it was the immobiliser blocking the igintion but the story repeated a few times within a day. So plugged in the opcom and I got:
U2105 - CAN-Bus No Communication with the engine control module
U2139 - Invalid Data from CIM (Steering Column Module
P0115-71 - Engine Coolant Temperature Signal Range/Performance
P0460-71 - Fuel Level Sensor Circuit Range/Performance
P0500-71 - Vehicle Speed Signal Range/Performance
P0654-71 - Engine Speed Signal Range/Performance
P0550-71 - Mileage Circuit Range/Performance
B0655 - Brake-Light Switch Circuit Incorrect Signal
the code errors were distributed as follows:
CIM: 1 error
ABS/ESPTC/ECU: 1
EHPS (powered steering) : 1
IPC ECU: 5
DIS: 1
So the whole thing seems to be about U2105
Any ideas appreciated. I found on the web an almost identical issue on ZB and it occured it was broken wires between the ECU and the fusebox. I took the ecu off and all seems fine. I had a look at the wires getting out of the ecu and all seems fine. No dampness, no breakages.
A mate suggested checking relay no 14, K13, 70A. What I find interesting, when I took the relay off, the situation was exactly the same. No reaction of the fuel pump, no reaction of the starter, the ESP and the Spanner lights on, the fuel gauge goes down after a few seconds. However, getting a new relay didn’t help. But sure it must this relay’s circuit.

I made a video
As you can see, first there is no reaction, no fuel pump, no glow plugs just the spanner and the ESP lights on and after a few sec the fuel gauge goes down and then the Fs appear on the display.
Then I turn the ignition on a few times and all is fine, the engine is ready to start
Then, I take the K3 relay off, then it comes back to the first situation, ie, no fuel pump, no glow plug, the fuel gauge goes down etc.
So, as you can see, it must something with this K3 relay circuit, am I right?
Zaffy fails to start, U2105 and U2139 error codesEach time the errors are deleted, they all come back once the issue reoccurs.
